For anything sold from a display case or delivered cold, the container is doing merchandising work. Clear packaging lets the food sell itself, which is why grab-and-go and salad programs almost always use it while hot food does not.
Cold Only
Most clear containers are made from PET or similar, which handles refrigeration well and heat badly. Hot food will warp them and can affect the seal. If an item might be reheated by the customer, use a microwavable MFPP container instead.
