Colour Is an Aggressiveness Scale
Pads run from light to heavy in a consistent order. White and red are the light end, for polishing and spray buffing on finished floors. Blue and green sit in the middle for scrubbing. Black and brown are the heavy end, for stripping finish before a recoat. Using a pad more aggressive than the job needs removes finish you paid to apply and forces an earlier recoat.
Size to the Machine, Not the Room
Pad diameter must match the machine’s drive block. An undersized pad will not seat properly, wears unevenly and can damage the block. Check the deck size on the machine before ordering.
