Jumbo or Standard
Jumbo roll tissue holds several times what a standard roll does, so refill trips drop sharply. In any building where a cleaner walks multiple floors, that labour saving outweighs the paper cost, which is why most commercial washrooms have moved to jumbo. Standard rolls still make sense in small offices, single washrooms and anywhere the installed dispensers are not worth replacing.
Compare Footage, Not Roll Count
A case of 48 standard rolls and a case of 8 jumbo rolls are not comparable on price. Convert both to total footage or total sheets, divide by the case price, and the real cost appears. This one calculation reverses which product looks cheaper more often than not.
Two-Ply Usually Costs Less in Practice
One-ply is cheaper per foot, but users compensate by taking more of it. Buildings that switch to 1-ply to cut cost frequently see consumption rise enough to erase the difference, plus more complaints and more refills. Two-ply is the practical default for tenant-facing washrooms.
