Alpha Supplies stocks wholesale garbage bags for offices, restaurants, schools and property management across Toronto and the GTA. Black liners for general waste, clear liners for recycling streams and security-sensitive sites, in the sizes and gauges commercial buildings actually use.
Sizing: Measure, Don’t Guess
Most over-ordering starts with a guess. For a round container, bag width should run roughly half the container’s circumference plus two inches, and length should cover the container height plus half its diameter so there is enough film to fold over the rim. A liner that is too small splits at the seam under load. One that is too large wastes plastic on every change, and at several hundred bags a week that adds up faster than most facilities expect.
Resin and Gauge: Where Buyers Overspend
Thicker is not automatically better. Low-density film stretches rather than tearing, so it handles sharp and irregular waste — kitchen scraps, packaging with staples, broken glass. High-density film carries weight well at a lower cost per bag and suits paper, plastics and general office waste, but punctures more easily. Matching the resin to the waste stream usually saves more than shaving a fraction of a mil off the gauge.
Black or Clear
Clear liners are not only about recycling compliance, though many GTA buildings require them so haulers can verify stream separation. They also let cleaning staff spot contamination or hazards before lifting a bag. Black remains standard for general waste and anywhere bin contents should not be visible to the public.
