When Black Is the Right Choice
Black liners stay standard anywhere bin contents should not be visible — public lobbies, patient areas, guest washrooms, retail floors. They also hide staining on the outside of the liner, which matters in bins that sit on display. For recycling streams, most GTA haulers want clear liners so separation can be verified at pickup.
Reading a Bag Spec
Two numbers matter. Width and length tell you fit: for a round container, width should be about half the circumference plus two inches, and length should cover the height plus half the diameter. Thickness tells you strength, expressed in mils for low-density film and microns for high-density. The two scales are not comparable, which is why a 0.9 mil low-density bag can outperform a nominally similar high-density one on heavy waste.
Seam Type
Star-seal bottoms distribute load around the base with no gathering point, so they resist leaks and blowouts under weight. Gusseted bags fit square containers more neatly but concentrate stress at the corners. For anything wet or heavy, star seal is worth the small premium.
